LIGA Technology
LIGA (Lithographie, Galvanoformung, Abformung) is a technology that manufactures high aspect ratio micro structures through X-ray lithography, electroforming, and molding processes. WANTS Corporation manufactures ultra-precision micro molds through LIGA process.
Micro 3D Modeling
Modeling of 3D structures in micrometer units
The sophistication of the 3D modeling that will be made into the final product leads to the quality of the final part. The first stage of co-work begins through modeling that will implement the mandrel.
X-Ray / UV Lithography
X-Ray / UV Lithography for mandrel fabrication
The core fixation of the LIGA process depends on the X-Ray / UV Lithography technology that fabricates the mandrel. Synchrotron and radiation with excellent parallelism are pulse light sources tens of thousands of times stronger than conventional light sources and have a continuous energy spectrum, enabling the realization of high aspect ratio structures. Synchrotron radiation is the optimal X-Ray light source for the LIGA Process.
Electroforming
Electroforming for micro mold fabrication
Through the completed micro mandrel, a micro mold model, which is the final result of the LIGA Process, is fabricated through electroforming, an electrodeposition process.
Micro Metal Mold
Completion of micro mold model. After removing the initially fabricated mandrel, injection molding begins with the completed micro metal mold.
Powder / Debinding
Effect of powder size
The density of parts in micrometer and nanometer sizes is ultimately determined by the particle size of the metal powder. You can see the difference between 8μm metal powder and 4μm metal powder.
